Moving Parts & Jamming
Moving Parts are a hazard and can cause serious injury; Safety Guards are put in place to protect you from moving parts. If you place your body parts in moving parts to remove jammed items you are putting yourself at risk.
How to protect yourself
If items are jammed in the Ironer, push the stop button immediately
The machine must be stopped before you remove jammed items from the Ironer
Tell your co-workers not to turn the machine back on until you have safely removed the item
If the item can not be removed safely, report to your Supervisor
Do Not
Do not remove jammed items whilst Ironer is operational
Do not place your body parts in moving parts
Do not remove items from behind safety guards whilst Ironer is operational
Do not climb on top of the Ironer to remove jammed items
Do not restart the machine until you have checked with your co-workers to ensure they are not in danger of being injured.
